UPMC has an exciting opportunity for a Digital Product Manager II in its Consumer Innovation department, located in downtown Pittsburgh at the Heinz 57 Center.

UPMC Health Plan is hiring a Digital Product Manager II to collaborate with creative, technical, and business partners to lead the design, implementation, and evolution of the digital properties (portals, apps, and third-party tools) that make our insurance products understandable and usable for our members while meeting revenue and customer satisfaction goals.


  • Apply KPIs, user research, customer input, business needs, and other sources to the prioritization of product features and an evolving product vision.
  • Define product strategy and maintain roadmaps for digital products.
  • Transform data to insight and product decisions.
  • Approve product for launch. Advocate for the end-user and identify opportunities to improve products to benefit the user experience while being a change agent.
  • Assess key market factors, including competitive landscape, consumer insights and unmet customer needs as input to innovative products, services and programs to meet the unique needs of users and stakeholders. Facilitate vendor evaluation and build vs. buy decisions. Manage products and features through the entire SDLC - unafraid to challenge whether a product/feature is still useful.
  • Communicate statuses and shifting priorities to all relevant stakeholders, negotiate for desired outcomes. Ensure market/business need to product fit and prioritize competing work requests.
  • Create and deliver product-centered presentations to diverse audiences. Translate requirements for multiple audiences using Job Stories (JTBD) or other relevant formats. Ensure timely delivery of product goals.
  • Provide input to marketing on the design marketing tests including messaging, creative, channel, design and targeting. When needed, create and deliver training on digital products. Strategically assist in the design and delivery of a holistic and consistent user experience across products. Help to ensure quality through UAT testing. Assist in the development of new/modified processes and procedures to support product strategy.
  • Stay current on digital trends and ensure that products remain relevant. Distribute credit and block blame to/from team members. Identify resource gaps and make business cases to acquire resources that will aid the delivery of product goals.
  • Take on project management and/or business analysis responsibilities when those roles are not present. Understand needs of the user, stakeholders, and partners and how they relate to product(s) managed. Manage personnel needs and allocations as part of the personnel scheduling committee.



  • Bachelor's degree MIS, Information Technology, HCI, Business, or equivalent.
  • 3-7 Years experience in Product Management, Business Analysis, Systems Analysis, or related field.
  • Experience contributing to large digital efforts (1y+/multi-million dollar product development efforts in the web and Mobile space).
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Experience working across disciplines (IT, Marketing, Sales, etc.) and analyzing stakeholder needs SDLC.
  • Ability to apply great ideas from multiple diverse sources to find the best solution to a problem or set of problems.
  • Self- starter with ability to deal with ambiguity and to adapt and embrace change.
  • Skill with computers and mobile devices; able to use and adopt necessary software productivity products and new platforms as needed.
  • Stakeholder communication and negotiation and health insurance or healthcare experience.
  • Agile/Scrum exposure as a Product Owner or Scrum Master Experience, presenting to all levels of an organization.
  • Analytics/data-driven background, experience with multi-channel digital asset delivery.
  • Experience collaborating with diverse groups to create requirements in Job Story (JTBD) format.

Salary Range: $31.82 to $54.34 / hour
