Description

Research opportunity in maternal and child health research with a longitudinal study of young pregnant women and their infants. 

Responsibilities include screening, recruiting, and consenting young women at three prenatal clinics for a study involving interviews, tablet surveys, and urine and saliva samples. Other duties include scheduling follow-up assessments, locating subjects, managing participant payments with the University payment system, abstracting medical record data, and project administrative tasks. 

Preferred candidates will have experience interviewing young pregnant women or older adolescents, familiarity with teen jargon and drug use terms, and will be personable and non-judgmental. Organizational skills, detail-oriented, punctual, good time management, and professional communication are required. 

Some local travel and occasional evening and weekend hours may be required.

This position is grant funded. 

Purpose:

Independently execute job functions for research protocol(s). Collect and gather research data for research project.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with senior research personnel regarding recruitment, data collection, outcomes of interviews, reports according to the needs of the study.
  • Independently execute job functions for research protocol(s) including recruitment, scheduling appointments, obtaining written consent forms, collecting data by conducting phone or face to face interviews for research project(s).
  • Scheduling follow-up assessments, locating subjects, managing participant payments with the University payment system, abstracting medical record data, and project administrative tasks.
  • Screening, recruiting, and consenting young women at three prenatal clinics for a study involving interviews, tablet surveys, and urine and saliva samples.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required, preferably in psychology, neuroscience, sociology or related research field. 
  • Minimum of one year of work experience in a research project and/or related clinical setting is required.  
  • Familiarity with computers and common software packages required. 
  • Working knowledge of research methodology strongly preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Act 31 Clearance
  • Act 33 Child Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance
  • Comprehensive Crisis Management
