Are you an experienced Pharmacist looking to take the next step in your career? UPMC St. Margaret is looking for a motivated Manager, Pharmacy Operations to join their inpatient pharmacy team! UPMC St. Margaret is a 250-bed teaching hospital and is Magnet designated. This position will be critical to maintaining the databases used in the pharmacy, helping with scheduling, and working on different projects with other staff. Purpose:
Direct the design and implementation of pharmacy services to support efficient and effective pharmaceutical care. Recruit, hire, mentor and provide leadership to staff. Monitor budget to ensure cost effective services.

Responsibilities:
  • Annually complete continuing education programs related to pharmacy practice as a mandatory requirement for maintaining an active license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
  • Manage the daily operations of the Department of Pharmacy and Therapeutics in accordance with patient care needs, hospital/department strategic plan, hospital and medical staff policy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Meet departmental requirements for administrative reporting functions.
  • Plan, organize and assist in managing the legal, professional, administrative and financial functions of the pharmacy service to ensure the safe and effective use of medication.
  • Select, coach, motivate and aide in the development of a fully qualified staff of pharmacists and technicians.
  • Visibly demonstrate a commitment to process improvement through active participation with the staff as well as involvement with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

B.A. degree in pharmacy.  
5 years of experience in hospital pharmacy administration/management.  
Graduate degree in hospital or clinical pharmacy (M.Sc. or Pharm.D.) preferred. 
ASHP residency in hospital or clinical pharmacy preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance
  • Pharmacist

Salary Range: $44.58 to $70.91 / hour
