Responsible to provide technical assistance in performing diagnostic and interventional procedures in the Electrophysiology Lab in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization

  • Assume responsibility for personal development and education.
  • Documents intra-procedural events and device utilization.
  • Edits and forwards results/images to electrophysiologist for analysis and interpretation.
  • Incorporate leading/evidence-based practice in quality/safety into every day work. Commit to high quality,safe work; encourage others to have similar standards. Identify processes/systems that could lead to inefficient practices, unsafe conditions, errors or adverse events. Avoid shortcuts to ensure quality and safety measures are not circumvented. Encourage patient and family involvement in processes involving patient safety. Speak up with other service partners to ensure high quality and safety. Report serious events/incidents per policy.
  • Know and follow all organizational/departmental policies/procedures.
  • Maintains equipment and supplies.
  • Monitors patients during procedures and reports any abnormal findings.
  • Reviews patient record and instructs patients prior to procedures.
  • Utilizes sterile or aseptic technique to scrub in and assist in the performance of electrophysiologydiagnostic and interventional procedures as per protocol.
  • Verifies proper preparation and assembly of specialized procedural equipment before utilization.


  • High School Diploma or equivalent Required. 
  • One year of experience in adult electrophysiology/cath lab preferred for a graduate of a cardiovascular technology program.
    • Two years of experience in adult electrophysiology/cath lab for a non-graduate of a cardiovascular technology program

     Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
    Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Required

         AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers AHA ACLS


  • Act 33 Child Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • Basic Life Support or Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Echocardiograph and Ultrasound
