Description

Purpose:
Provides primary consulting services for departments, business units, divisions, and community partners by providing expert recommendations on engagement and inclusion cultural improvements. Facilitates engagement and inclusion programs and initiatives to address leadership, staff and community needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively participates in business unit, system-wide or community councils focused on employee engagement, retention, cultural competency, community health partnerships and engagement.
  • Acts as the liaison for HR, business unit, employees and diverse communities and benefits customer needs.
  • Conducts research respond to business unit or community needs and provides relevant facts to recommend solutions.
  • Create effective internal and external awareness strategies of UPMC's commitment to employee engagement and community engagement in the UPMC footprint.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans. Manage outcomes, tracking, and reporting for inclusion initiatives to determine their effectiveness, as well as manage dashboards/metrics.
  • Lead communication strategy with regard to strategic programs, with partners, to meet UPMC business needs in areas such as employee engagement: dignity and respect, lend a hand, cultural competency, councils; and/or community engagement .
  • Lead the communication strategy to align these initiatives to UPMC business needs, promoting UPMC's commitment in areas of employee and community engagement.
  • Maintain a positive rapport with and good working knowledge of all groups (UPMC and Community Based Organizations).
  • Maintain system-wide Community Health Partnership and implement a Heath Literacy, Health Issues & Disparities initiatives in each region (Erie, Pittsburgh, Altoona, Jameson) specific to the communities
  • Provide input to the Program Director regarding needed/required changes specific to internal and external programming
  • Serve as a collaborative partner with UPMC peers and staff members to address UPMC diversity, inclusion, employee engagement, and community engagement goals and metrics. Prepares reports on results, makes presentations, and participates in committees.
  • Support Program Director with deployment of 4C strategy to meet the diversity and inclusion needs of the organization involving culture, company, community, and customer.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business or related field is required.
  • Two years of experience in Human Resources required.
  • One year community and/or public relations experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in diversity/inclusion/employee engagement strongly preferred.

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Act 31 Clearance
  • Act 33 Child Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance
