Description

UPMC Health Plan has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Proposal Manager in its Marketing & Communications department, located in downtown Pittsburgh at the U.S. Steel Tower. This position will have standard hours M-F, with additional hours as needed to meet deadlines. Please note that this is not a work from home position.

  

Responsibilities:

  • Manages standard proposals for specified line of business within best practices guidelines and framework.
  • Participates in the quality assurance process through self-reviews and peer-reviews of proposals.
  • Assists proposal manager team leads in the development of strategic proposals, as needed.
  • Participates in project status and reporting metrics functions related to Proposal Development process.
  • Participate in professional development training.
  • Completes other reasonable and normal duties as instructed by the Proposal Development management team.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in business management, marketing, communications, professional writing, or related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience within the proposal development arena, preferably in insurance or other professional services, including, but not limited to: analysis of RFPs/RFIs, developing proposal timelines, schedules, and compliance matrixes, maintaining draft version control, reporting upon proposal status, and coordinating with subject matter experts (SMEs).
  • Experience supporting the development of responses to scopes of work, bid requirements, questionnaires, cover letters, executive summaries, and additional responses as they relate to RFPs/RFIs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proficiency in Qvidian, SmartDocs, or other RFP repository - preferred.
  • Background in Health Insurance - preferred.
  • Must hold a current PA health insurance sales license or become licensed within eighteen months of hire.
  • Technical Skills: strong creative and writing organizational skills, able to handle quick turnarounds and tight timelines and produce a quality product, ability to work well in a team-oriented environment, ability to simultaneously coordinate and manage multiple project timelines.

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
    PA Health and Accident License required within 90 days of hire.

    Salary Range: $27.43 to $46.22 / hour
