UPMC Corporate is seeking a full-time Temporary Office Assistant to support the Department of Employee Health!

The Office Assistant will work in the Pittsburgh/Oakland area, with the building locations depending on clinic needs. Locations include, but are not limited to, the Aiken Medical Building in Oakland and the US Steel Tower in Downtown Pittsburgh.

The Office Assistant will be supporting the Employee Health Flu Program initiatives. Duties include, but are not limited to, registering employees/patients, scanning badges and documents, working the front desk, organizing the clinic flow, and managing supply logistics.

The ideal candidate for this position will have strong computer skills and be comfortable working heavily on computers/with data entry. Additionally, this position can serve as the face of the office, so strong customer service skills are vital. Medical office experience is a plus, but not a requirement!


  • Maintain neat and organized files and electronic databases.
  • Maintain and purchase office supplies, as needed.
  • Prepare letters, memos, and reports.
  • Schedule and coordinate internal and external appointments, calendars, and meetings.
  • May entail work with Microsoft Office products, such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Support all department personnel with duties including, but not limited to, answering phones, taking messages, copying, filing, and faxing.
  • Greet and assist any visitors to the department.


  • High School diploma strongly preferred.
  • Post-secondary education is preferred.
  • One year of administrative support working experience is highly preferred.
  • Medical office experience is a plus.
  • Must have proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Must possess typing skills and working knowledge of word processing, electronic mail/calendar, and spreadsheets.
  • Must possess the ability to learn and effectively use various software programs.
  • General knowledge and experience with office equipment, such as copiers, multi-line phone systems, fax machines, and paging systems.

  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance
