Magee Women's Hospital of UPMC is currently hiring a Regular Full time Clinician (RN) to help support & lead clinical care/staff for the Center for Fertility & Reproductive Endocrinology office located in Penn Hills, PA. 

This position will work Regular Full Time daylight schedule Monday through Friday with a weekend rotation.

The Clinician is a highly developed role model of professional nursing practice with focused expertise and accountabilities in one or more of the following: expert clinical practice, teaching/development, and/or evidence based practice. This role partners with management in the achievement of a culture of excellence in professional nursing practice and patient care. 

The Clinician, under the direction of the Department Manager, assists in the completion of employee evaluations, selection and hiring of staff, and in performance management. The Clinician has the authority, responsibility, and shift accountability for the delivery of nursing care through the use of the nursing process. 


  • Develops and implements ASC policies and procedures from admission to discharge including maintenance and review. Makes recommendations for revisions and updates. Maintains communication with staff, physicians and administration with regards to ASC policies and procedures.
  • Participate in Post-anesthesia recovery of patients who have undergone an IVF procedure
  • Participate in clinical research. Participate in program committees and seminars
  • Participate in the clinical management of patients, including phlebotomy
  • Participates in clinical staffing responsibilities for him/her physician team and coordinates with other teams to assure proper coverage of the unit
  • Provide assistance to physicians with IVF and office procedures
  • Psychological support of infertile couples
  • Demonstrates knowledge of performance improvement tools and techniques. Continuously improves the quality of care and the work environment of outcomes and the integration of research and best practices into daily work. Shares learning from improvements with other units and/or spreads across the business unit or system.
  • Serves as a leader in clinical nursing practice, identifying patient and staff focused opportunities for improvement and leading the change process. Identifies, educates and supports the psychological and learning needs of staff during change and transition. Practices participatory leadership and is an active member of shared leadership at the unit, facility or system level. Assumes formal leadership responsibilities for one or more of the following: quality improvement, evidence based practice, GN or new hire on-boarding. Assists the Unit/Department Leader with the peer review process.


  • Minimum 3 years nursing (RN) experience. 
  • BSN required/MSN or CNL preferred.
  • Outpatient, Surgical, Fertility, Endocrinology, Women's Health, and/or reproductive health care experience preferred
  • Experience in leadership/management preferably in an ambulatory surgery center
  • Must have a working knowledge of PA Department of Health and accrediting agency requirements for compliance in a surgical center setting.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Current Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse. 
  • National Certification preferred.
  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

Salary Range: $32.46 to $48.57 / hour
