Description

UPMC is hiring a Research Associate to support the Childhood Depression Research Program. Dr. Maria Kovacs has been following a cohort of subjects and their family members for more than 30 years. As part of a longitudinal project, the current study focuses on emotion regulation among people with histories of depression. A variety of data has been collected, including psychiatric interviews, physiological indices during experimental protocols, and self-report questionnaires, in pursuit of this program's research goals. The Childhood Depression Research Program has lab space for participants to comfortably contribute to psychological research.

The Research Associate will be responsible for thoroughly explaining the research study to participants, helping participants fill out research questionnaires, performing research study testing, and scheduling appointments via e-mail and telephone calls, etc.

This position is grant funded.

Purpose:

Assist in the execution of research protocols and services.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with recruitment, scheduling appointments, obtaining written consent forms, collecting data by conducting phone or face to face interviews for research project(s).
  • Maintain accurate documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required preferably in psychology or related field.
  • Familiarity with computers and common software packages required. 
  • Prior related work experience in a research setting preferred.
  • Working knowledge of research methodology strongly preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
