UPMC Community Provider Services has an exciting opportunity for a Intake Assistant CW position in the Reimbursement Department in Oakdale, PA.  This is a full-time position Monday through Friday.  Must be flexible. Will work one weekend per month and one late shift per week.. 

Provide ongoing support and assistance to the RN Intake Coordinators. Primary responsibilities include: Intake and data entry of complete and accurate referral information and providing clerical support to the Intake Department.


  • Obtains patient referral data from referral sources via phone or fax.
  • Assures accurate transfer of patient insurance information to IVC.
  • Perform clerical duties as requested.
  • Notifies intake coordinator of pending referrals.
  • Acts as liaison between Intake and referral sources with initial referral information.
  • Assists Intake with phone communication as needed.
  • Identifies and documents patient team assignment.
  • Enters new patient information into computer system as needed.
  • Documents initial referral information.
  • Assists Intake nurses with faxing and copying and distribution as needed.


  • High school diploma.
  • Medical terminology and computer experience highly desirable. 
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills required. 
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Act 34
