University of Pittsburgh Physicians is seeking a full-time Data Clerk II to support the Department of Minimally Invasive Bariatric and General Surgery at the Isaly Building in Oakland!
The Minimally Invasive Bariatric and General Surgery Program is accredited as a comprehensive center, recognized for meeting rigorous standards of quality, the volume of surgeries performed each year, and the continued support that patients receive after surgery.
The Data Clerk will provide assistance and support to the research team,
supporting the research associates and coordinators in their research
activities. This position consists of heavy data entry, patient information
tracking, database activity/maintenance, and working with operating room
notes.
The ideal candidate for this position will be comfortable working with primarily data entry and computer work. Proficient Microsoft Office and typing skills are vital to this role, as is a strong attention to detail. A working knowledge of EPIC is preferred, as is a basic knowledge of medical terminology.
Some travel is required for this position, as the Data Clerk may be occasionally asked to travel to UPMC Hamot for department meetings.
Responsibilities:
- Enter and verify patient information in database.
- Maintain confidentiality of information.
- Support all relevant database(s) in an effort to help with the clinical and research aspects of the department.
- Display a caring and courteous attitude.
- Assist all Research Associates in collecting and verifying information.
- Demonstrate regard for the dignity and respect of all patients.
- Assist in training all new Data Entry and Temporary staff.
- Represent UPMC in a positive and professional manner.
Qualifications
- Completion of High School education.
- One year experience in healthcare facility.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills required.
- Previous data entry experience is highly preferred.
- Experience working with databases preferred.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred.
- EPIC experience preferred.
