UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital is hiring a Manager, Business Operations to support our Womens Imaging Clinic at our Oakland location. You will work weekdays, but this role may require weekend availability.

As Manager, Business Operations, you will manage day to day business and operational components of care for the unit; maintain 24 hour accountability for managing the financial and administrative operations of an assigned area in collaboration with the organizational leadership; achieve quality patient care and outcomes through appropriate leadership and utilization of human and fiscal resources in their program area; manage the development, effective business operations, regulatory compliance, process improvement and ongoing evaluation of a program area.

  • Assist management in developing a department budget and implement ongoing strategies to integrate organizational resources to meet patient needs.
  • Make decisions and evaluates outcomes with adequate knowledge, information and consideration of stakeholders and member of the department.
  • Direct department activities which are congruent to and assist in achieving organization operational imperatives.
  • Direct the business operations within assigned area. Promote interdisciplinary partnership and consultation of outpatient staff, physician staff, hospital staff and health care team through participation in committees and related activities to ensure appropriate care and services for patients and their families.
  • Work with Clinical Operations management to monitor patient outcomes; recommend and implement professional improvement.
  • Supervise, coach and mentor staff to ensure ongoing review of compliance with practice standards, appropriate counseling, corrective action, and formal annual review.
  • Monitor dashboard indicators and quality in department to meet organizational goals.
  • Interact with members of the health care system as a means to achieving organizational goals.
  • Develop comprehensive goals, objectives and annual plans for department, administering policies and procedures.
  • Chief Retention Officer for department; actively work to recruit, retain, and develop a qualified and continuously improving staff.
  • Ensure day to day compliance with all regulations.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to monitor patient outcomes, recommend and implement professional improvements and initiatives and schedule changes and support.


  • Registered Nurse license is preferred.
  • B.S. degree in a business or health related field or a B.S.N. degree is required.
  • Imaging background preferred.  
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • 5 years of clinical experience in health care environment is required.
  • 2 years management/leadership experience preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local regulations applicable to OSHA, Joint Commission Accreditation, DOH managed care requirements, employee health and workers compensation preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Licensed as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is preferred.

Salary Range: $29.22 to $49.32 / hour
