Join a team that makes a difference in the lives of our patients!  The Community Provider Services team is hiring a Patient Insurance Advocate.  This role is responsible for researching, obtaining and coordination of financial assistance and copay assistance for the Specialty Pharmacy department. This may include verification of insurance coverage, entering/ updating patient information into the computer system, communication of financial responsibility and securing financial assistance for patients.  The role is Monday through Friday during normal business hours.

  • Track and monitor patient's with approved assistance grants and reapply for more funding as needed.
  • Follow up with existing patients to obtain new or renewal copay assistance cards.
  • Utilizes appropriate communication lines in relaying problems, concerns, questions and ideas.
  • Cooperates with other staff members when planning and organizing daily activities.
  • Carries out all responsibilities in accordance with Chartwell's Core Values.Sets high goals or standards of performance for self.Makes sure that work meets quality standards.Shows pride in work.Demonstrates reliability and follow-through on all assigned tasks.
  • Assist Lead Insurance Verification Coordinator as required
  • Ensures that all financial assistance applications are processed timely and accurately.
  • Tracks and generates reports for management specific to co-pay assistance obtained.
  • Researches, obtains and coordinates financial assistance for Specialty Pharmacy patients.
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively and express ideas clearly.
  • Assists with review of financial responsibility with patient or family member and obtain payment mechanism.
  • Maintains courteous demeanor at all times.
  • Takes initiative to present ideas/suggestions to management.
  • Prioritizes and completes work on schedule.
  • Researching and updating manufacturer copay assistance programs as needed and annually; update the drug assistance spreadsheet.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work effectively and maintain expected productivity.


  • One to three years of financial assistance experience in Specialty Pharmacy or a healthcare setting required. 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. 
  • Knowledge of Specialty pharmacy payers, medications and insurance verification highly desired. 
  • Knowledge of financial assistance programs desired.  
  • Excellent organizational, communication and customer service skills. 
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities. 
  • Specialty Pharmacy experience a plus.

  • Act 34

    Salary Range: $17.62 to $29.28 / hour
