This is a Full Time position on the Day Shift. 615A-245P.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in transporting residents to activities, other departments, prn.
  • Completes specific assignments per nursing unit routine and documents necessary information reflecting resident care.
  • Provides individualized nursing care to geriatric residents and residents of various ages according to resident care plan.
  • Provides post-mortem care as directed.
  • Communicates effectively with residents family members and members of the health care team.
  • Assists residents to and from bathrooms and provides assistance as necessary. Offers bedpans and urinals and assures incontinent residents are clean and dry, changing linens as needed. Encourages showers and other self-help measures and activities.
  • Compares diet trays with diet orders before serving, serves trays, feeds residents as necessary and removes trays. 
  • Assists with or provides personal care after meals. 
  • Transports residents, who are able, to the dining room and recreation room and supervises/assists them while dining. Serves nourishments and fresh water.
  • Assists with recreational activities as directed.
  • Assists in preparation of unit, room for admissions/discharges.
  • Responds to resident call lights and intercoms in appropriate timely manner.
  • Charts all required information on correct forms.


     

Qualifications

High School graduate or equivalent preferred.

Previous resident care experience or related training preferred.

Current nurse aide license required.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
  • Act 34
  • OAPSA
