Description

Purpose:
The Family Based Therapist  is an experienced therapist working with children and families in the Family Based Mental Health Program. This will require functioning as a lead or a co-therapist in a team consisting of two therapists, using a variety of treatment modalities and providing services in the client's home. Case Management Services are also required, which will entail coordination with agencies and community systems and helping to link the client and families to appropriate community services. Ancillary duties will also include provision of training services to other Family Based staff when indicated and programmatic back up in the absence of the Family Based Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Will complete required paperwork as required.
  • Will meet at least twice a week with clients at their convenience to maintain the therapeutic focus and will assist clients through crisis situations.
  • Will provide team and individual delivered services to the families served.
  • Will provide casework for the child and family and will link them to other community agencies as needed.
  • Will participate in the on-call rotation and respond to crisis calls in a timely manner.
  • Will work collaboratively to develop a positive relationship and be responsible to develop a clinical treatment focus with a team member.
  • Will meet productivity standards as required.
  • Will participate in all required supervision meetings and will follow supervisory directives.
  • Will provide strength-based services for the child and family.
  • Will participate in State mandated training.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Counseling, or related mental health field.
  • Three (3) years of experience in a child, adolescent service system providers program that would include Mental Health, Mental Retardation, Elementary, Secondary, or Special Education, Children and Youth, Drug and Alcohol, Juvenile Justice, Health Care, and Vocational Rehabilitation.
  • This experience must include work with children and adolescents.
  • Must have completed State mandated training and passed the State Exam OR
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Counseling, or related mental health field.
  • Two (2) years of experience in a child, adolescent service system providers program that would include Mental Health, Mental Retardation, Elementary, Secondary, or Special Education, Children and Youth, Drug and Alcohol, Juvenile Justice, Health Care, and Vocational Rehabilitation.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: 

 

 

  • Automotive Insurance 
  • Driver's License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)  
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting 
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance

Salary Range: $18.97 to $30.41 / hour
