Description

This position is in the Laboratory of Dr. David A. Lewis (http://www.lewislab.pitt.edu) in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Lewis’ lab seeks to understand the neural circuitry of the prefrontal cortex and the alterations of this circuitry in schizophrenia. This position is part of our NIH NeuroBioBank and Tissue Repository (NBB), which collects and characterizes postmortem human brain specimens for brain disorder research.  

This position will be responsible for assisting the NBB Clinical Psychologists with aspects of case identification and postmortem clinical assessments, including next-of-kin and health care provider correspondence, clinical records searches/requests, documentation organization, treatment record review, case history review/writing, data entry, and postmortem diagnostic conference coordination.

This position is grant funded. 


Purpose:
Assist in the execution of research protocols and services.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with recruitment, scheduling appointments, obtaining written consent forms, collecting data by conducting phone or face to face interviews for research project(s).
  • Maintain accurate documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required preferably in psychology or related field.
  • Familiarity with computers and common software packages required.
  • Prior related work experience in a research setting preferred.
  • Working knowledge of research methodology strongly preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Act 34
