With direct oversight and direction, the HR Generalist will function as a business partner providing day-to-day support to business, operations, and HR regarding the implementation of human resource initiatives and strategies in UPMC International.



  1. Under the direction of the HR Leader, provide HR consulting services by partnering with business, operational, and HR leaders of the organization to recommend solutions on policy and procedures, communications, global onboarding, and other improvements.
  2. Serve as UPMC International’s talent acquisition coordinator. Drive recruitment and employee engagement efforts for international employment and assignment needs. This will include tracking hiring needs, recruitment status, conducting exploratory interviews, working with 3rd party agencies and coordinating recruitment efforts across countries.
  3. Partner with the Global Mobility Manager and in-country HR leads to ensure seamless assignment administration.
  4. Coordinate and support vendor management in areas such as EAP, benefits, payroll, recruitment, and other outsourced functions.
  5. Coordinate employee engagement efforts and other UPMC activities across multiple countries.
  6. Review or create processes, policies, and procedures across the global HR function to drive consistency in administration.
  7. In support of HR team and organizational business needs, utilize HR metrics to develop and implement initiatives that positively impact the organization and the employee experience.
  8. Participate on local committees that focus on projects that move the organization forward and towards meeting its strategic goals.
  9. Effectively communicate expectations with business, operational, and HR partners while promoting a One Team collaborative atmosphere in which all functions of HR work together as one team.
  10. Continuously hone skills and upgrade business acumen to stay abreast of industry trends.  Demonstrate capabilities and professional knowledge, and the ability to assimilate new knowledge into action.
  11. Perform in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned



  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business or related field is required and at least one year of employee relations experience required. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of federal, state and local legislation as it applies to human resources and the employment process is required.
  • Oracle/PeopleSoft experience preferred.

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
    PHR or SPHR preferred
