Description
Purpose:
The Learning Specialist plans, administers, coordinates, and facilitates developmental programs and provides on-going assessment of the effectiveness of these programs. Assists in the design, implementation, and development of programs, and updates existing programs as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Stay updated with learning industry trends and make recommendations to support the organization's learning goals.
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate staff and manager development opportunities consistently across UPMC.
- Effectively communicate with HR partners, leaders, and learners.
- Assist in the assessment of learning needs of the organization through conducting basic learning consultation (and other assessment methods) with HR partners, leaders, and learners.
- Be a central reference point for inquiries related to staff and manager development, onboarding, and related programs.
- Weekly public speaking events.
- Participate in projects as assigned.
- Assist in the design and development of programs and provide input for ongoing staff and manager development content updates and maintenance of programs.
- Determine the effectiveness of learning and the transfer of learned skills to the workplace by using a variety of measurement tools that include evaluations, assessments, and surveys (when appropriate).
- Work closely with other learning professionals to offer assistance and ensure consistency in program delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Learning and Development, or related field required.
- Minimum of two years of training experience required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of training curriculum design, development, and delivery. Must be highly organized, creative, timely, and possess strong communication skills.
- Proficient skills in the use of Microsoft products, PeopleSoft, or other HRIS systems.
- Must be able to work regular business hours with scheduling flexibility.
- Will need to be comfortable speaking in front of large groups.
