We are currently hiring a Contract Employment Specialist in our US Steel Tower downtown Pittsburgh location. There is also the potential for work from home for up to three days per week! 


As an Employment Specialist with UPMC Talent Acquisition, you will perform comprehensive employment related consultation, recruitment, selection, and related responsibilities. These services include coordination of all aspects of the hiring process for departments as well as problem solving assistance related to the employment process.  You’ll also assist managers to improve the quality of the organizational and operational practices through the development and implementation of recruitment and hiring strategies, which meet the ongoing and changing needs of UPMC, while supporting our commitment to achieve a culturally diverse workforce.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary employment consultant for designated departments
  • Choose the most qualified candidates to refer to departments based upon documented objective criteria consistent with the legal requirements, job description, qualifications, and business unit policies in a timely manner.
  • Review and evaluate candidate applications and/or resume in terms of related experience, education and skills, rejecting those not meeting the minimum qualifications.
  • Formulate cost conscious employment advertisements for targeted populations. Evaluate responses and recommend revisions.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information received within the guidelines of professional recruitment in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.  
  • Represent UPMC at external and internal functions (i.e., job fairs, UPMC HS sponsored events, etc.), provide the public with information about UPMC and career opportunities.
  • Facilitate job posting system.
Advise and instruct all levels of management on employment policies, procedures and legal concerns.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field required.
  • One year of employment interviewing or related human resources experience required OR completion of the UPMC Summer Associates/Pittsburgh Fellows program required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills required
  • Experience with applicant tracking or HRIS systems is preferred

Salary Range: $18.79 to $31.23 / hour
