Description
Purpose:
The Clinical Assistant assists the Collaborative Practice Nurses in providing various services to adult patients with cancer, their families, staff and physicians.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain medical record and other department filing; keeping information current and well Organized.
- Assist with the organization of Special events.
- Maintain supplies and order to department office area and tasks.
- Order entry and communication within department and between departments.
- Communicate to registration and patient accounting to guarantee a smooth flow to patient scheduling.
- Take messages accurately and deliver them in a timely manner.
- Assist nursing staff and medical staff in daily patient care activities in the clinical areas.
- Greet patients, families, visitors and staff.
- Accurately schedule patients for treatment center and physicians.
- Direct patients and families to maintain flow.
- Maintain Medical Record order and organization.
- Assist with the patient flow in clinics/ treatment and assist with rooming patients/ vital signs as needed.
- Maintain work flow in treatment center and physician office through appropriate scheduling.
- Arrange meetings as requested with confirmation notices.
- Enter daily billing into Meditech system.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Two (2) years of outpatient experience preferred.
- Prefer back office medical assistant experience
- Prefer EPIC experience
- Prefer Oncology experience
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
