Description

UPMC Health Plan has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Ancillary Network Manager, located in downtown Pittsburgh at the U.S. Steel Tower. This position will require at least 50% travel.

 

The Sr. Ancillary Network Manager manages projects within the Dental/Vision Network Development Department & Ancillary Product Operations, and provides direction to network staff enabling them to resolve daily operational issues. The Sr. Ancillary Network Manager directs all tasks related to Dental/Vision network development projects and processes. 

 

In addition, he/she functions as a liaison between the Network Development and Dental/Vision Ancillary Product Operations to jointly carry out corporate initiatives involving the Dental/Vision provider network. The Sr. Ancillary Network Manager analyzes the effectiveness of operational processes and makes recommendations to management that enable corporate decision making, and acts as a spokesperson for the Ancillary Product Operations in the absence of Manager of Network Expansion.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure quality and timely delivery of project reports to management.
  • Monitor tools used to measure productivity of department, i.e. the Encounter Database and Dental/Vision.
  • Manage projects within the Network Development department.
  • Lead all Dental/Vision expansion efforts.
  • Design and document policies, processes and procedures to support Dental/Vision Network Development functions and improve efficiencies.
  • Direct Ancillary Network Management staff enabling them to resolve daily operational issues.
  • SharePoint site; Coordinate staff development and training.
  • Mentor by accompanying Ancillary Network Managers to appointments when indicated.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Care or Financial studies, or related field required (equivalent experience will be considered).
  • Five (5) years of experience in managed care setting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, analytical and organizational skills are required.
  • Extensive problem solving experience is required.

Salary Range: $27.43 to $46.22 / hour
