Description

UPMC Health Plan has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Clinical Product Analyst. The Sr. Clinical Product Analyst will support product and process implementation for the newly formed BUDDI team (Behavioral Unit for Digitally Developed Interventions) in the Consumer Innovation Department, located in downtown Pittsburgh at the Heinz 57 Center.

      

BUDDI will oversee the strategy and deployment of digital interventions for members and patients across UPMC’s integrated payer-delivery system.  The unit will be helping UPMC scale clinical and coaching services through digital apps.  The Sr. Clinical Product Analyst will work closely with the behavioral clinical team to translate, imagine and implement behavioral plans into actionable digital health programs.

      

By working collaboratively across the Health Plan with user experience designers, business owners, developers, clinical staff, and marketers; this roll will be instrumental in developing strategic initiatives that ensure member and patient needs are met.  

 
Responsibilities:    
 
  • Technical Skills
    • Web Application Experience

      • General knowledge in the usage of a web-based application functionality and architecture.

    • User Interface and User Experience Background

      • Familiar with web application-based user interface design.

      • Familiar with human computer interface best practices.

      • Determine information architecture.

      • Analysis and recommendations for application improvements and feature enhancements.

    • Requirements Gathering

      • Create user stories, personas and storyboards.

    • Agile Scrum Development SDLC

    • Analysis and Reporting

      • Plan and conduct user research and competitive analysis.

    • Software Programing Concepts

      • Understands basic application flow logic such as “if then” statements.

    • Testing
      • Familiar with Software Testing tools.

      • Conduct Unit testing and UAT.

  • Clinical Skills
    • Digital Health Delivery Experience

    • Behavioral Intervention Experience

  • General
    • Demonstrated written communications skills.

    • Excellent verbal communications skills.

    • Excellent time management.

    • Ability to build relationships quickly and to work collaboratively across several departments and teams.

    • A user-centric mindset.

    • Attention to detail.

    • Knowledge of industry tools such as Sketch, InVision, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Zeplin and OmniGraffle.

    • Ability to translate company goals and objectives into digital experiences.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related business field (computer science, information systems, etc.) or in a health care field, or comparable degree and/or experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in health insurance or clinical health care is required; those with relevant experience in other industries will be considered.
  • Prior experience in assisting with product development, understanding product requirements documents and writing software requirements is required.
  • Generally, has five to eight years of professional experience in a business analyst role or comparable experience.
  • Completes on-going training on-the-job, through courses, self-study, certifications and/or advanced degrees to maintain and enhance technical and business capabilities.
  • Serves as experienced resource for dealing with technical or business issues.
  • Applies prevention techniques to avoid repeat issues and crisis situations.
  • Applies advanced knowledge in a primary discipline and working knowledge in multiple relevant disciplines to create solutions for business situations.
  • Operates independently with direction from lead or management 1-2 times per week.
  • Understands and applies basic UPMC values and code of conduct.
  • Interacts with others in an open, honest, collaborative, and reliable manner.
  • Is visually and verbally articulate.
  • Able to contribute to interactive group development sessions.
  • Experience and familiarity with health industry coding systems including ICD-9, CPT, and HCPCS is preferred.
