Description
As the Associate Director, Special Events you will plan and implement Community Relations Department programs and events that focus on raising dollars and donors to meet departmental goals and objectives as well as contributing toward the Foundation's short and long-term goals and objectives. The Associate Director, Special Events, will provide oversight for Children's Hospital Foundation events as determined by the Vice President, Community Relations. The Associate Director will serve as an event consultant to events outside of the Department and take direction on Foundation priorities determined by Department and Foundation leadership.Responsibilities:
- Manage staff and operational resources efficiently to achieve and maintain an approved cost per dollar raised ratio as well as maximize fundraising potential. Participate in setting the department budget and track expenses against the approved budget.
- Demonstrate leadership in working across departments with other colleagues to cultivate creativity and problem-solving, achieve quality and efficiency and promote teamwork in support of departmental and Foundation goals.
- Create, plan, implement and manage programs and events that promote revenue growth and engage the community in support of the Hospital's philanthropic needs and the Foundation's revenue goals. Involve various constituencies and promote Children's Hospital as a charity of choice.
- In collaboration with the Vice President, Community Relations and fellow team members, establish annual and long-term goals and metrics for programs, events and initiatives with an emphasis on signature fundraising events.
- Maintain accurate and consistent donor and vendor records in keeping with established and future policies and procedures.
- Provide leadership, direction and training to staff to deliver and execute programs and events of the highest quality and service; guide the event vision in collaboration with event lead; provide consistency across events in support of organizational brand; establish and implement processes and procedures that enable efficiency in event execution; and mentor and manage staff teams to be high-performers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related area and 3+ years events planning experience required.
- Experience in non-profit organizations preferred.
- Direct experience in event planning, sponsorship, and project management.
