Director, WorkPartners Operations

Description

This position is responsible for ensuring that WorkPartners strategic initiatives meet the expectations of both WorkPartners line of business unit owners as well as WorkPartners senior management team. The Director, WorkPartners Operations provides direction and leadership to a diverse team of Project Managers, Business Analysts, Operations Coordinators and Systems Analysts. The Director and his/her team works with business unit leaders to establish strategic goals and objectives through an annual business planning process. The director oversees the process of merging the line of business plans into a master business plan and works with Senior Management to prioritize and establish appropriate resourcing for approved initiatives. Once finalized, the team works across the organization to develop solutions, monitor initiative progress, identify and track key performance indicators and implement final solutions. Solid technical foundation is necessary, as many initiatives require enhancing/developing new technologies to achieve optimal business goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
  • Ensure security of electronically published corporate data. Ensure compliance with HIPAA standards.
  • Ensure quality of corporate data through periodic review of systems documentation.
  • Ensure corporate compliance of user access and licensing to databases and system.
  • Oversee all production and software development projects.
  • Ensure policies, processes and procedures are maintained to support departmental functions and improve efficiencies.
  • Monitor requirements for staffing, programs, equipment, and productivity tools. Develop and implement plans to address requirements, including recruitment of competent staff, development of individual and team objectives, and preparation of operating and capital budgets.
  • Direct and mentor staff, including performance and behavioral management. Evaluate skills and provide opportunity for improvement and career growth.
  • Oversee the day-to-day functions of the strategic operations of WorkPartners' business units, with a specific focus on the integrated functions. This includes responsibility for staff performance and customer satisfaction. Ensure quality and timely delivery of related customer requests.
  • Provide customer-oriented service to our customer community and our members, groups and partners. Provide service according to the expectations of UPMCHP policies and procedures.
  • Direct cross-functional teams to develop and implement WorkPartners' suite of services including; Information Technology, marketing, and internal staffing.
  • Direct the design, execution, and implementation of `best practice plans and processes to address opportunities, challenges and customer satisfaction improvements; continuous monitoring for potential improvements.
  • Direct operational efficiencies; develop processes to identify cross-functional opportunities, challenges, and customer satisfaction improvements; coach others to identify and elevate the same; create synergy between business lines, operations, sales team, and the internal support teams.
  • Elicit and coordinate the support of the Insurance Service Divisions centralized resources as appropriate to ensure that strategic initiatives are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Collaborate with WorkPartners leadership team to design and implement the initiatives defined to support UPMC WorkPartners goals and objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science or Information Systems, or related field with a minimum of ten years of experience in discipline and five years of technical management experience is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, analytical and organization skills are required.
  • Extensive health insurance or health care experience is preferred.
  • Experience with systems development methodologies, project management, structured design and programming concepts is required.
  • Masters degree preferred.
