Description
Oversees daily operations of rehabilitation services and is accountable for the duties and responsibilities of all therapy staff as defined by their professional organizations. Assists in the development and implementation of the strategic plan. Plans and administers programs to support UPMC Susquehanna initiatives. Provides clinical services based on licensure.
Responsibilities:
- Resolve customer satisfaction issues to include patients, physicians, or other departments within the system.
- Oversees the patient registration, billing, scheduling, and database management. Coordinates with Information Technology all hardware and software needs. Assures system information policies are adhered to.
- Oversees the environment of care in therapy areas, takes a proactive approach to patient and employee safety. Communicates and develops action plans when a deficiency occurs.
- Assists in developing and managing all operational phases of therapy services within established budget guidelines, including the development and implementation of operational standards, goals, objectives and budget.
- Manages and develops a staffing plan that matches the resources with the demand of the clinic and volume that assures high quality of care yet stays within financial parameters of the system. Provides coverage to other clinics as indicated.
- Conducts outpatient therapy meetings with the staff on a regular basis to share information, solicit feedback, and encourage employee engagement and satisfaction.
- Operates therapy services in accordance with the guidelines and standards of the organization as well as regulatory agencies. Establishes standards of care which follows all policies and procedures for the department and system.
- Provide clinical services based on license on frequent, daily basis.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and related age appropriate intervention. Demonstrates clinical/technical skills unique to their license.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy from an accredited college or university required.
Masters Degree in Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy preferred.
- Two years of Physical or Occupational Therapy experience required.
- Five years clinical supervisory experience preferred.
- Demonstration of leadership skills through participation in committees or projects.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Licensed in Physical or Occupational Therapy in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania required
