Provides nutritional counseling/support to patients upon physical referral.  


UPMC CMI has an exciting new opportunity and is seeking a dynamic full-time dietitian candidate! This position provides coverage for multiple physician practices as well as conducting Telehealth visits. 

*Registered Dietitian (R.D) and Certified Diabetes Educator (C.D.E.) is required.

Responsibilities include providing weight loss/nutritional counseling while partnering with our physicians during office visits. When not participating in office visits time will be spent conducting nutritional counseling via virtual visits using EPIC Systems’ Software.

Monday-Friday, between 7:30am and 5:30pm. 

Travel several days per week
to offsite locations is required.


  • Reviews and applies dietary orders written by the physician.
  • Prescribes dietary modifications at the physician's request to make it easier for the patients to follow their dietary regimen. Modifications are documented in the patient's chart.
  • Develops individualized meal plans for patients to help them stay within their prescribed dietary orders. Appropriate documentation is noted in patient's chart.
  • Interviews patients to obtain diet histories and assess nutritional status.
  • Provides nutritional advice to physicians upon request to help them better understand what dietary regimen would be most helpful to the patient.
  • Educated/counsels patients regarding their nutritional needs as it relates to their diagnosis or problem. Appropriate documentation is noted in patient's chart



Registered Dietitian (R.D) and Certified Diabetes Educator (C.D.E.) required.

B.S. in Nutrition with accredited dietetic internship, preferred.

Two to four years related experience and/or training, preferred.

Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Registered Dietitian (RD)
