Purpose:University of Pittsburgh Physicians is hiring a full-time Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner to help support UPMC Anywhere Care. This APP will primarily work from home in 6 and 12 hour daylight shifts and must be available all days. Set rate of $36.05/hr.

Responsibilities:
- Meet the requirement of re-certification.
- The CRNP will work only under the supervision of those physicians who are certified to serve as either primary or substitute supervising physician.
- The supervising physician or substitute physician will be available to discuss care and management of the patients that the CRNP manages.
- Determine whether the patient?s condition requires the immediate attention of a face to face visit.
- Maintain courteous, cooperative relations with patients, family members, physicians, nursing and ancillary personnel.
- To maintain appropriate oversight, the supervising physician or substitute physician will review and countersign 100% of the patient charts within 10 days.
- Make decisions regarding appropriate evaluation and management of a patient being seen for initial evaluation.
- Prepare patient summaries and/or discharge instructions
- Order medications as needed.
- Maintain certification and or licensure at national and state levels.
- Identify normal and abnormal findings from the online template
- There will be at least one attending physician present at all times while the CRNP is working.
- Instruct and counsel patients or legally responsible parties regarding matters pertaining to the patients? physical and mental health, the nature and management of their injuries or illnesses, and any required follow-up.
- Either the primary supervising physician or a substitute supervising physician will be present whenever the CRNP is working.The supervising physician will within ten days of any patient-CRNP encounter review the chart documentation of the encounter for completeness, quality of care and appropriateness of diagnosis and treatment and will verify such review with signature.
- Attend AAPA/AMA approved C.M.E. programs.
- Review on-line template and based on specific questions tailored for presenting complaint, determine best course of treatment.
- Re-certification examination every six years.
- 50 hours C.M.E. category 1 and 50 hours C.M.E. category 2 for every two year period.
- Actively participate in all Quality Assessment activities.
Qualifications

• Ability to establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff, other departments, and patients/families
• Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment
• Handle multiple/changing priorities and specialized equipment
• Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving abilities required as related to various aspects of patient care
• Good clinical judgment
• Critical thinking skills necessary to exercise and lead others in application of acceptable standards of practice
• Mobility and visual manual dexterity
• Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting and positioning of patients
This position is dependent upon successful attainment and maintenance of hospital privileges, if applicable to the Business Unit practice.
Licensure, Education, Certifications, and Clearances
CRNP:
• The successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program is required
• BSN, MSN is preferred
• Professional nursing experience and/or nurse practitioner experience is preferred
• Current state RN license and CRNP certification are required
• National certification, eligible for licensure by Pennsylvania board of nursing, eligible for certification as a CRNP by Pennsylvania state board of nursing
• Current CPR certification is required
• Act 33 Clearance will be required
• Act 73 Clearance will be required
• Act 34 Clearance required
