Description

Independently facilitate a wide range of activities for multiple academic initiatives within the Department of Psychiatry and UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the Clinician Educator Faculty Development Program; the Clinical Value Project Grant Program; the Psychiatry Research Pathway Program; the Career and Research Development Seminars and the Academic Council. This position is also responsible for coordinating a variety of large scale projects within the Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Psychiatry Research Pathway (PRP) Program:Serves as a member of the planning committee. Coordinates agendas and disseminates materials needed for each meeting. Prepares minutes and tracks participant progress. Writes materials for the Departmental website that describe program and news items related to program participants. Plans and oversees all logistics associated with resident recruitment events. Oversees planning of events such as the annual retreat, quarterly participant reviews.
  • Career and Research Development (CARD) Seminars:Serves as a member of the planning committee. Coordinates agendas and disseminates materials needed for each meeting. Prepares minutes and racks participant progress. Schedules meetings and invites/reminds participants as needed.
  • Annual Faculty Performance Review Process:Coordinates evaluator assignments and timing of process with the Chair, Vice Chair for Clinical Services and Academic Administrator. Drafts instructions and disseminates to all faculty evaluators with necessary materials. Coordinates training workshops for new evaluators. Coordinates the Chair?s review of all evaluations and the electronic filing of each. Responsible for preparing the summary report to the Dean's Office and for responding to annual audit requests. Diplomatically follow up with evaluators on late reviews and coordinate assistance with performance issues.
  • Clinical Value Project (CVP) Program:Serves on planning committee and coordinates annual training workshops. Prepares Requests for Proposals and disseminates to eligible faculty and physicians. Oversees the application review process. Prepares and disseminates notice of award letters. Oversees the collection of required summary reports.
  • Clinician Educator Career Development Initiatives:Work with the Administrator for Clinician Educator Career Development and the planning committee to develop and coordinate new initiatives, workshops and resources to assist clinician educators in their career development.
  • Clinician Educator Faculty Development Program (CEFDP):Serves as a member of the planning committee, Coordinates all didactic sessions, working closely with external and internal presenters on all logistics. Prepares minutes for dissemination to the leadership team. Responsible for maintaining the two-year schedule. Responsible for collecting and analyzing evaluations and preparing overall program summaries. Oversees the application process for each new class.

 

Qualifications

  • Master's degree and more than five years of work experience required, within an academic setting preferred
  • Highly developed organizational skills and ability to effectively prioritize and multitask a must
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required
  • Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines key
  • High degree of professionalism a must

    Salary Range: $24.99 to $43.25 / hour
