Description

UPMC Health Plan has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Quality Improvement Support Coordinator to support the Quality Improvement Department for its downtown Pittsburgh location at the U.S. Steel Tower. 

 

This is a Monday through Friday with varying daylight hours position, and rotating Saturdays from April through December.  Interested candidates should be willing to travel 50% of the time to all counties encompassing the UPMC Health Plan Network. Reliable transportation is necessary. Occasional overnight travel is required.

 

Under the general direction of the Senior Project Manager, reporting to Supervisor of the Quality Improvement Department, this position will be responsible for planning and executing Mobile Events and HEDIS projects. Candidates should demonstrate strong organization and decision-making skills while working independently in the field. In addition, candidates will be required to lift up to 25 lbs. They will manage all tasks required to provide services to meet business needs within budget and targeted deadlines.


Responsibilities:

  • Assists and supports the UPMC Health Plan HEDIS Office Based Data Collection (OBDC) and Network Quality HEDIS Medical Record Retrieval programs.
  • Assists and supports HEDIS (preventative health and chronic illness gaps in care) Improvement field staff with initiatives and projects as needed for Mobile Events, in the office and out in the field. Travel is required 50% of the time.
  • Develops and maintains detailed project plans for new HEDIS Improvement initiatives.
  • Assists in the evaluation, compilation, and documentation of HEDIS Improvement analysis and reporting needs, including communication of those needs to the Director, and Executive Management for communication of project status.
  • Provides service to departments within UPMC Health Plan under the direction of the Supervisor, Provider Performance, Quality Improvement to assist in the management, coordination and implementation of projects and initiatives set forth by the HEDIS Improvement department.
  • Assists in the development of material and resource information necessary for HEDIS education both internal and external of UPMC Health Plan.
  • Interacts effectively with all levels/departments within UPMC Health Plan.
  • Prepares and presents project status reports to the Senior Project Manager or other Management as required or needed.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience will be considered.
  • At least one year experience in a project-oriented department required.
  • HEDIS and CAHPS understanding is preferred.
  • Strong planning, organizational and communication skills (oral and written) are required.
  • Strong skills in Excel, Access, Visio, PowerPoint, Word and other software as needed for success.
  • Valid Driver License Required.
