Description

UPMC Hamot is hiring a full-time Diagnostic Technologist Advanced to support UPMC Hamot: Breast Imaging Department and Hamot Imaging Center. This position will be scheduled daylight shifts ranging from 6am to 6pm with occasional exceptions. Additionally, this role does not have on-call or holiday responsibilities, however, some weekends may be required for special events. Sign-On Bonus details:
  • $2,500 with a 1 year commitment (inexperienced)
  • $5,000 with a 2 year commitment (experienced)
Purpose:
Performs imaging procedures at an advanced level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of advanced technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.

Responsibilities:
  • Performs or assists Clinical Specialist in performing QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives.
  • Performs all job responsibilities of Diagnostic Tech I.
  • Demonstrates competency of specialty equipment (O.R., Fluoro Procedures, etc.) and analyzes data promptly. 
  • Performs echocardiograms and lab draw functions if applicable.
  • Monitors quality control activities and demonstrates advanced level of knowledge in Diagnostic Imaging by providing patient care as defined by the most up to day protocols and procedures.
  • Demonstrates the ability to function independently, and is able to cover off shifts, on-call responsibilities, and perform services at satellite facilities, where applicable, while continually communicating with lead and management team.
  • Participates in standardization activities with system-level workgroups.
  • Works directly with Radiologists regarding protocol development.
  • Assist with the training of staff and student technologists.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology.  
  • 2 years Diagnostic experience required
  • 2 years of clinical experience as a registered mammography technologist preferred.
  • ARRT Mammography certification highly preferred within 6 months of hire.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • ARRT certified in Radiography. 
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required.
  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
  • ARRT Certificate
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
  • ACT 31 within 90 days of hire or transfer.
