Mental Health Worker Associate (Part-time)

Description

The Mental Health Worker Associate will facilitate groups, provide documentation and other patient support as requested.

This position will work in the Children Overcoming Obstacles and Limits (C.O.O.L.) Zone program.  The C.O.O.L. Zone is a behavioral health program for young children who exhibit symptoms of or who currently have behavioral health diagnosis. This program serves children experience a range of behavioral and emotional disruptions such as aggression, anxiety, depression, withdrawal, family disruption, emotional difficulties, traumatic responses, and more.


This is a part-time position (20 hours per week).



Responsibilities:
  • In cooperation with the team, develop, assess, facilitate and monitor group activities for the patients.
  • Monitor daily progress notes, data collection, summarization, and graphing for assigned patients. This includes but is not limited to educational, behavioral and skills development programs as well as research protocols.
  • Work effectively and cooperatively in a trans-disciplinary environment, served by the supervision of several senior staff.
  • Participate in the development, implementation and monitoring of behavioral and functional assessments of the patients.
  • Promote professional rapport with co-workers, patients, and visitors to the Institute.
  • Coordinate the data management involved in program evaluation and report these findings to other clinical community members.
  • Assess and monitor skills development programming (cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, expressive, social skills, process) for the patients.
  • Assist in monitoring patient satisfaction (teachers, parents, child, outside agency).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Education or related field required.
  • One (1) year of experience in mental health or related field preferred.
  • Prior experience working with children ages 3-11 or in school settings desired.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
