High Fidelity Wraparound Statewide Trainer/Coach



The Youth and Family Training Institute (YFTI) is a grant funded initiative of Pennsylvania's Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS) in collaboration with the University of Pittsburgh and Community Care Behavioral Health Organization. The purpose of the Institute is to develop and implement High Fidelity Wraparound (HFW) across the Commonwealth. The HFW Statewide Trainer/Coach will be responsible for providing training and coaching for the HFW workforce as they become credentialed and implement the HFW model in the counties where they work.


This position will work Monday - Friday, daylight shift.  There may be weekends as needed if you need to attend a training or conference.


  • 1) Work directly with the YFTI HFW Director of Training and Coaching to provide regular training and coaching activities for the HFW workforce trainees as they become credentialed and begin implementing HFW in their counties. This includes: a. Provide on-site, video and phone coaching to PA Coaches across the state. b. Facilitate Five-Day Team Training as needed c. Provide direct team coaching to county teams if necessary. d. Help in development of training and coach topic presentations and materials e. Implement the credentialing process using the YFTI coaching circuit and various tools for skill attainment, review and coaching feedback.
  • 2) Provide training for the HFW workforce as needed under the direction of the YTFI Director of Training and Coaching.
  • 3) Support development and implementation of additional training as needed.
  • 4) Participate in the evaluation and continuous quality improvement efforts to assure the effectiveness of training/coaching as it relates to fidelity and outcomes.
  • 5) Become an expert user of the dashboard data system
  • 6) Participate as appropriate in discussions with internal and external key stakeholders
  • 7) Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
  • 8) Performs other duties as assigned


  • 1) Complete all requirements to become a HFW Team Coach within nine (9) months of employment. 
  • 2) Complete the train-the-trainer program to become a certified HFW trainer within one (1) year of employment.
  • 3) Credentialed as a facilitator coach or facilitator via PA HFW standards required. HFW credentialed coach preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in behavioral health, social work, education, or related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the area of child/adolescent behavioral health or related human services field in developing, implementing and providing staff development required. OR
  • Master's degree and three (3) years of experience as previously defined.
  • Proven ability to work with diverse groups in a culturally and linguistically competent fashion.
  • Ability to accomplish goals with self-sufficiency in a participatory culture, keeping others appropriately informed while moving the work forward. - Ability to provide strength-based feedback while also being clear about fidelity expectations. 
  • Must possess a balance of assertiveness and diplomatic skills.
  • Superior organizational skills required.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills required.
  • Team player with a strong commitment to team processes.
  • Experience in delivering training to diverse groups of people preferred. 
  • Proven knowledge of the appropriate use of current technology to enhance the training/coaching experience as well as a skilled user of Microsoft Office Software.
