Manage the comprehensive oversight and management of Revenue Cycle data and information for various Revenue Cycle analytical needs. Take a leadership role in the creation, enhancement, documentation, validation and dissemination of revenue cycle data for internal analysis and operational implementation. Serve as a process expert and provide training and support to other Analysis staff as needed. Possess the ability to translate disparate internal data sources into a single source data set that is easily reportable on. Act as project lead on data analysis projects as well as function as critical team support to other Analysis staff as needed.


  • Data management and modeling utilizing Cognos reporting tools, SQL programming and advanced Excel/Access capabilities (e.g., program macros) to build data sets for analysis which would include: inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory surgery, medical practice and ED trends, length of stay, demographic predictive modeling, basic modeling, and general research and decision support activities.
  • Assess compliance with all external regulations (e.g., CMS requirements, other payer requirements etc.).
  • Manage routine & special projects which may require oversight of other departments' work and coordination of a wide variety of functions.
  • Assist in designing and executing solutions that meet System's/Divisions' strategic objectives
  • Synthesize findings and implications of data work into reports and exhibits that can be used by clients.
  • Identify and summarize basic characteristics in data and trends in data patterns related to Revenue Cycle information.
  • Create and maintain data for internal Revenue Cycle analysis and modeling and be able to explain these activities to a sophisticated analytic audience as well as translate these activities into general terms for non-technical audiences and senior management.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with Revenue Cycle departments, and external contacts as appropriate. Maintain policies and procedures of the team / department. Identify departmental needs and report to management as appropriate
  • Meet deadlines and turnaround times set by managers and department director (these deadlines and turnaround times will, at times, require the employee to work until the project is completed, meaning extended daily work hours, extended work weeks, or both).
  • Oversee and provide guidance to peers and serve as reference point for questions on day-to-day basis.


  • Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
  • DBA experience including database development, maintenance, performance turning; data modeling and manipulation for management decision making: ability to transform department's needs into physical data model/application processes
  • Experience using Oracle, Cognos Framework, Cognos ReportNet, Cognos Transformer, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Visual Studio, Qlik, or other relevant software packages is preferred.
  • Superior computer skills are a given, with expert knowledge in general tools such as SQL as well as working knowledge of clinical program analytic software packages such as SAS, SPSS, Stata.
  • Must possess strong project management skills, solid analytical and problem-solving skills, and have meticulous attention to detail.
  • Able to communicate technical information to non-technical people.
  • Experience in health care insurance or health car

Preferred Skills:

  • Cognos experience (framework)
  • Tableau
  • Power BI
  • Automation experience (either reports or processes)
  • Report development or Oracle/SQL coding languages experience.


Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP) preferred
