UPMC Jameson Emergency Department is seeking a board-certified Emergency Medicine Physician or other board-certified experienced physicians to join their team!   

 

UPMC Jameson is a full-service community hospital serving the residents of Lawrence County and its surrounding communities. UPMC Jameson provides inpatient hospital care, surgical services, diagnostics, emergency medicine, senior care, rehabilitation, and a variety of specialized health care services.

 

Formerly Jameson Health System, the hospital merged with UPMC on May 1, 2016. Since then, UPMC Jameson has been part of a world-class academic medical center that is consistently ranked in the prestigious U.S. News & World Report annual Honor Roll of America’s Best Hospitals.

 

The Emergency Department at UPMC Jameson is dedicated to efficient, quality care of patients who are critically ill or seriously injured, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our highly specialized team of board-certified emergency medicine doctors, specialized emergency medicine nurses, and technologists serve approximately 40,000 patients annually.  Some of the most common emergencies treated are:  heart attacks, traumas/injuries from automobile accidents, respiratory distress, strokes, falls, fractures, poisoning, severe infections, burns, emotional distress, sexual assault/abuse, sexually transmitted diseases, and injuries caused by violence.

 

What would I be responsible for/expect in this position?

  • Physician will treat patients in Emergency Room to ensure proper injury care and disease diagnosis
  • Physician must be able to evaluate a variety of acuity, think and act quickly to make a tentative diagnosis and determine the appropriate course of treatment
  • Physician will work as part of a team with providers and other members of the emergency staff
  • UPMC focuses on physician wellness that includes staffing ratios of generally less than two patients per hours
  • Regular – Full Time status
  • Shift:  All shifts and on call

Qualifications

What would qualify me for the faculty position?

  • Emergency Medicine Board Eligible/Board Certified
  • Must be qualified for a medical license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
