Purpose:
Take the next step in your finance career and join the dynamic team at our Chartwell location as the The Chief Financial Officer!  This role is responsible for the overall fiscal management and direction of UPMC Community Pharmacies financial results/goals. As a member of the Leadership Team, the incumbent serves as consultant and confidant to the Business Unit President and has a key role in the strategic and business planning process. The incumbent is responsible for the development, interpretation, coordination, and administration of the entity's policies and procedures on finance, accounting, internal controls, and auditing. Additionally, the CFO is responsible for the maintenance of records and procedures and policies to adequately safeguard the assets of the companies.

Responsibilities:
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects and meet short deadlines
  • Accurate and timely monthly financial reporting to the Division Chief Financial Officer
  • Communication and analysis of the monthly financial statements to senior administration
  • Coordinate the divisions financial activity with other UPMC Health System Business and Finance departments (i.e. Compliance/Internal Audit, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Accounts Payable, Tax, Fixed Assets, Payroll, IT, and Treasury)
  • Directly involved in negotiating payment rates with third party payers
  • Insures compliance with Federal regulatory matters
  • Keeps Board, senior management and staff informed of current organizational, community and industry issues
  • Maintain an open line of communication with the Division President, Division Chief Financial Officer, Business Unit President, and senior management staff
  • Maintain cooperation and responsiveness to the special project requests of the clinical administration
  • Manage the budget process for all UPMC Community Pharmacies, Chartwell, RX Partners and the UPMC retail Pharmacy Network
  • Monitor actual to budget variances throughout the year and complete/update cash flow projections
  • Motivated, persuasive and hardworking
  • Able to organize and set performance standards in a hands-on fashion
  • Participate and guide senior management in the implementation of budget directives
  • Responsible for monthly financial reporting of pharmacy product lines
  • Responsible for the coordination of internal and external audits Responsible for the financial policies of the division and adherence to the policies 
  • Serves as coach and council, providing guidance to operations Vice Presidents regarding key decisions
  • Responsible for the financial preparation for external business valuations and financial due diligence
  • Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors 
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Serves as financial liaison to the various external investment partners
  • Supervise and direct the finance/accounting staff
  • Monitor and record 340B activity

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree with a major in accounting required. 
  • Master's Degree and/or CPA preferred. 
  • Fifteen years of professional level experience in Finance, of which seven years should be in an upper management position required. 
  • At least five years of experience should be directly in a healthcare or in the public accounting field. 
  • A background in pharmacy is a plus.
