Purpose:

Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, of UPMC, Family Care Connection Program has 5 Sites in Pittsburgh in Braddock, Rankin, Turtle Creek, Lawrenceville and the Mt Oliver areas and is currently seeking  Community Aide I to work on a full-time basis (40 hour work week) Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00A to 8:00PM.  This shift will be flexible and also will include occasional Saturdays when scheduled.


COMMUNITY AIDE I


Community Aide I (CAI) is responsible for providing a welcoming atmosphere in the centers.  They are responsible for being able to link walk-in families to services in the community and are the first point of contact when families walk into the center.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Answer phone calls and direct to the appropriate staff member and provide receptionist duties when in the center

  • Responsible for intake of walk-in families and/or families that want to know information regarding the center and/or community

  • Monitor the use of the center computer for families to use

  • Build positive rapports with parents and children

  • Assist facilitators in the parent, child programming and parent-child interaction groups

  • Maintain the family support center site and ensure welcoming atmosphere

  • Participate in outreach/recruiting activities for the program

  • Clean and sanitize the toys and equipment in the classrooms

  • Maintain confidentiality of ALL Family Care Connection families

  • Assist with filing management information papers

  • Complete all monthly van log information in a timely manner

  • Keep tract of van maintenance

  • Transport families to programming, well baby visits, mental health sessions, etc.

  • Attend staff meetings

  • Perform other duties as assigned



Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • One (1) year working with children in a child setting.
  • Ability to work with individuals from diverse background.
  • Good communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to problems solve Team player

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)  Driver's License 
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting 
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance
