Description
Purpose:Own recruitment and retention programs without Food and Nutrition Department. Facilitates training and mentoring programs and initiatives within the department to promote employee growth and engagement. Partners with leadership to identify needs in recruitment and training and assists in developing solutions. Responsible for tracking departmental completion of system-wide and department-created training.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a learning resource center to include printed materials, audio/visual software and equipment. Provide and encourage training to continue personal and professional growth.
- Develop, implement and continually reassess the ongoing educational needs of the Food and Nutrition Department staff as well as apprentices and support personnel. Holding Managers and Supervisors accountable to ensure their staff is compliant with training needs
- Assist with leading and maintaining the Certified Trainer Program ownership of Food and Nutrition Retention Program and Mentoring Program. Providing feedback to individuals in the trainer or mentor roles.
- Develop, implement and evaluate the Food and Nutrition Department Orientation Program. Conduct all new hire orientation and six months follow ups to ensure appropriate mentoring and employee retention.
- Organize and conduct safety training seminars for Food and Nutrition staff. Periodically review management training, identify training resources and programs to address existing needs of all individual Food and Nutrition personnel.
- Act as liaison for the Career Counselor in facilitating initial interactions
- Track all staff training and development updating employee records at minimum annually (or at six months for new hires/promotions) to be submitted with employee performance evaluation.
- Work with HR to ensure all department licensing is maintained/updated and submitted according to UPMC Policy. This includes coordinating with Servsafe proctor to enroll employees in classes
Qualifications
HS Diploma/GED required, Bachelor's preferred 4 years relevant experience required 2 years relevant leadership experience required. Must be able to accommodate flexible scheduling including weekends and holidays. Good oral/written communication skillsLicensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Allegheny County Health Dept or Servsafe certification required within 6 months of hire
