Description
Responsibilities:
- Lubricate and clean equipment and parts.
- Perform a variety of miscellaneous repairs of a routine nature such as, but not limited to, freeing sticking doors, windows and locks.
- Work cooperatively with all (SNF) personnel and perform work in accordance with (SNF) policy, regulations, and standards.
- Maintain log of these test for inspectors or supervisors.
- Perform basic Preventive Maintenance Work Orders.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly manner.
- Know well about General Maintenance and plumbing, water and sewer system.
- Learn about regulations and codes, sanitation and safety regulation as out lined in (SNF) Policy and Standards or as good judgment dictates.
- Perform a wide variety of mechanical, electrical testing and installation of new equipment as directed.
- Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments as directed.
- Test the water temperature, emergency and fire system as policy dictates.
- Know about the use of electrical testing equipment.
- Report to supervisor all unsafe acts or condition observed within the (SNF) or support facilities.
- Request that certain materials or machine parts be purchased as a part of the maintenance function.
- Assist other maintenance personnel, as instructed.
- Drive any (SNF) automotive equipment as assigned. This would include operation of various snow removal equipments.
- Assist with the chemical treatment, cleaning and maintenance of the closed loop hot water heating system.
- Know basic trouble shooting and repair of electric motors of different sizes.
- Perform related duties assigned by authorized personnel or as may be required to meet emergency situations or as dictated by (SNF) Policy.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3 years basic electrical knowledge.
- Available for On Call duty on a 24 hour a day basis and work shifts, weekends and holidays as scheduled.
- May in the course of their duties be in rooms where medications are stored.
- No contact with medications is allowed.
