As the Accounting Analyst, Intermediate, you will provide for the moderately complex accounting and analytical activities associated with maintaining general accounts and developing financial statements and reports in support of grant-funded UPMC programs, including children’s health and wellness, research and support of Cystic Fibrosis and Sickle Cell Anemia, youth violence prevention, opioids abuse and addiction recovery,  and HIV/AIDS support.  


  • Coordinate administrative tasks, special projects and training programs as assigned.
  • Act as a resource for entry-level accountants or administrative staff.
  • Prepare general ledger account reconciliations for designated accounts. Propose correcting entries.
  • Interpret financial transactions and events for users who must make economic or business decisions.
  • Prepares reconciliation of actual to budget variance analysis.
  • Prepare and post moderately complex monthly journal entries.
  • Create accounting analytics for internal and external reporting requirements.


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related business field required.
  • Minimum of one year of related work experience required.CPA/MBA preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office with emphasis on spreadsheet application and PeopleSoft General Ledger proficiency preferred.
