Associate Network Manager - Directory


UPMC Health Plan has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Network Manager - Directory in its National Network Management department, located in downtown Pittsburgh at the U.S. Steel Tower.

The Associate Network Manager - Directory will support the Network Manager - Directory staff, Team Lead, and Director and work in coordination with providers to ensure that their provider information is up to date at all times. Additionally, the Associate Network Manager - Directory will ensure that the UPMC Health Plan Provider Directory is up to date and accurate at all times. The Associate Network Manager - Directory will outreach to providers as related to key departmental goals via phone, email, or fax. They will assist in obtaining provider information and document their activity in a customer database.



  • Interact with and collaborate with Providers, Offices and entities as they appear in UPMC Health Plan Provider Directories to support Directory and Provider Demographic Initiatives
  • Assist the office in completing necessary paperwork for participation and ensure all items are accurate.
  • Track and manage assigned outreach efforts from initial provider contact through completion and be responsible for results.
  • Be able to multitask i.e. converse with provider representatives, answer questions, and document results while maintaining productivity and accuracy.
  • Work as a partner with Network Manager-Directory, Network Managers, Physician Account Executives, as well as other internal departments.
  • Assist with ongoing provider communications and training for office staff as needed.
  • Coordinate problem resolution for providers as necessary and ensure ongoing collaboration with providers to support Health Plan initiatives.
  • Assist other areas of the Heath Plan with Provider Directory discrepancies.
  • Work closely with and have an in-depth understanding of Cactus and the online Provider Directory/UPMC Health Plan website.
  • Be able to work with Microsoft products including Word, Excel, and Teams, as well as, have the ability to learn other software tools as needed.
  • Adhere to processes and policies of the department and work as part of an integrated team. 


  • Associate's Degree in Business, Health Care, Marketing or a related field is required, or equivalent experience.
  • Three (3) years business/sales or healthcare-related experience required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Demonstrated leadership, planning, communication, documentation, organization, analytic and problem solving abilities are required.
  • Ability to attend or accompany Manager/PAE to various internal and external department and provider/hospital meetings.
  • Effectively interpret and summarize results of various analyses in a timely manner.
