Description
Responsibilities:
- Interacts daily with employees and clients of Patient Care Services.
- Must maintain a professional demeanor and attitude and demonstrate optimism, enthusiasm and a willingness to work constructively with all members of the organization.
- Must be able to handle stressful situations courteously and calmly.
- Maintains schedules in the electronic timekeeping system.
- Negotiates with stakeholders to find creative solutions to fill staffing vacancies.
- Creates staff schedules for assigned units according to established nursing department staffing plans and workforce qualifications.
- Accepts and logs employee call offs for assigned campus(es).
- Notifies department leadership of any noted trends or patterns with call-offs.
- Manages temporary help worked time in the UPMC Pinnacle and agency automated time and attendance systems.
- Ensures new employees in the nursing department have a complete profile in the automated time and attendance system.
- Produces requested payroll and scheduling queries/reports from Kronos.
- Acts as a resource for managers, timekeepers and employees for all Kronos modules
- Responds to employee queries in a timely manner
- Manages workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
- Applies payroll practices consistently across all assigned campuses.
- Develops a thorough knowledge of UPMC Pinnacle Human Resources and Nursing Department pay practices and policies
- Develops an expert understanding of all components of the Kronos payroll systems
Qualifications
- High school diploma required.
- Strong PC skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and ability to navigate the internet required.
- Basic typing skills required.
- Strong organizational skills
- Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Previous experience with accounting or payroll
- Experience with Kronos
- Associate Degree in Business or Accounting
