UPMC Cole is looking to hire fulltime Catering Liaison to primarily work a day shift.  Employees will also need to be flexible regarding shift depending on time of catering events.  This position will also work rotating weekends and rotating holidays.

 

 Responsibilities:

  • Assists in electronically and manually preparing department reports and forms.
  • Assists with ongoing management of daily processes in department.
  • Attend meetings and in-services as required.
  • Completes data input for Daily Stats
  • Completes menu process for new admissions.
  • Edits Menus as needed.
  • Flexible hours are needed for catering events and special projects. Will be responsible to adjust hours for evening and weekend catering events.
  • Flexible with working schedule to complete projects within deadlines.  May work after regular business hours and weekends.
  • Is able to create and maintain departmental forms using computer programs.
  • Maintain professional growth and development through educational programs, seminars, workshops, etc.  Will use the LIM2 (Less is More) concept to continually improve departmental processes.
  • Maintains established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control.  All work will be done according to Labor and Industry, fire safety, life safety, JCAHO standards, Department of Health standards, USDA, and Department of Agriculture.
  • May be required to assist with food prep and cafeteria work.
  • Organizes, plans and carries out catering events in the hospital as well as outside the hospital when necessary.
  • Performs secretarial/clerical duties.
  • Will always observe patient confidentiality and make sure that staff members do the same.
  • Will assist in covering other departmental positions as the need arises.
  • Works closely with department inventory person to order supplies necessary to carry out catering events.
  • Works closely with director and operations manager to assist in daily duties as well as Diet Supervisor duties and Catering duties.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Catering experience preferred.
  • Diet Office experience preferred and a basic knowledge of computers including Word and Excel is necessary.
  • At least 1 year experience in the healthcare food service field is required.

    Salary Range: $10.97 to $19.86 / hour
