Description
Purpose:Performs a variety of electrical, construction, repair and maintenance services in and around the buildings of the hospital complex. Routinely trouble shoots and repairs electrical systems, power distribution, lighting, signaling, and communications. Responsible for documentation of work orders and scheduled maintenance as it pertains to Life Safety and other regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains and repairs electrical and mechanical systems.
- Responsible for timely completion of work orders, Preventative Maintenance, Logs, Performance testing and other documentation
- Removes snow and ice.
- Accurately requisitions materials, maintains files and records. Records time and material expended.
- Installs, repairs, and maintains lighting, power distribution and emergency sub-systems.
- Assists other trades as appropriate or assigned by management.
- Responsible for maintenance, testing and repair, of alarm, life safety systems, fire systems, emergency generators, automatic transfer switches, battery operated lighting, low / medium voltage switchgear and medical systems.
- Installs repairs and maintains electrical interface with Buildings Management Systems, Telecommunications, and Nurse Call, CCTV, and other systems.
- Maintain a clean safe work environment, including storage and shop areas.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree as a Electrician and 3 years related work experience as an electrician is required.
- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted.
- Valid Pennsylvania driver's license required.
- Act 33/34/73 Background Clearances Required.
- Hospital Electrical experience is strongly preferred.
- Background in hospital bed repairs or strong mechanical skills strongly preferred.
- May in the course of their duties be in rooms where medications are stored. No contact with medications is allowed.
