Description

UPMC Susquehanna Soldiers, located in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania, is hiring summer Recreation Aides for various locations in Tioga County including Lawrenceville, Elkland, Knoxville, and Westfield. These positions are part-time temporary and work Monday - Friday, from approximately10:30 am to 3:00 pm. Reliable transportation is required.

 

Purpose:

Provide structured, age-appropriate health and nutrition education and activities for youth in several locations throughout Tioga County during the summer months.

 

Responsibilities:
Access any injuries that may occur and create a plan of care for minor injuries
Actively practice behaviors associated with SH Service Excellence expectations. Smile at and greet everyone enthusiastically, treat everyone with respect, dignity and C.A.R.E.2. Be an ambassador for UPMC Susquehanna. Provide the best C.A.R.E.2 for our patients no matter what.
Assist Summer Feeding staff with distribution of meals at program sites
Assume responsibility for personal development and education
Incorporate leading/evidence-based practice in quality/safety into every day work. Commit to high quality, safe work; encourage others to have similar standards. Identify processes/systems that could lead to inefficient practices, unsafe conditions, errors or adverse events. Avoid shortcuts to ensure quality and safety measures are not circumvented. Encourage patient and family involvement in processes involving patient safety. Speak up with other service partners to ensure high quality and safety. Report serious events/incidents per policy.
Intervene appropriately in situations that arise among program participants.
Know and follow all organizational/departmental policies/procedures
Lead discussions on good decision-making ; model behavior
Lead participants in creating healthy snack options to sample and take home
Maintain attendance records of participants
Plan weekly programs (themes); secure necessary materials and equipment
Prepare and submit monthly program reports

 


Qualifications

High School Diploma Strongly Preferred

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Driver's License
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
