UPMC Home Health is actively seeking a full-time nurse Senior Manager of Clinical Operations to support the operations of our specialty teams. Our specialty teams include OB, IV, Mental Health, Wound Care, and Education. This position will provide overall management of Specialty Clinicians, Staff Development Educators and Specialty Teams throughout the organization to ensure quality patient care services in the most cost effective manner and to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies based on agency policies, procedures and direction.

This position is based primarily in Mars, PA. This position reports directly to the Clinical Director for UPMC Home Health.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor adherence to the budget and ensure adequate staffing and productivity requirements.
  • Responsible for the oversight of the Staff Development Educators to ensure appropriate orientation and continuing education for all employees. Provides oversight for compliance with staff competencies. Provides oversight of the Clinical Procedures and Patient Teaching Tools for the organization.
  • Serve as a consultant/liaison for this specific patient population between referral sources and nurse liaisons.
  • Complete performance appraisals. Maintain contact with Human Resources, payroll, Work Partners to facilitate personnel issues per agency policy and the law.
  • Attend compliance training and adhere to the organization standards of conduct, policies and procedures.
  • Perform duties and job responsibilities in a fashion which coincides with the service management philosophy of UPMC/Jefferson Regional Home Health, L.P. towards patients, visitors, staff, peers, physicians and other departments within the organization.
  • Responsible for the oversight of the development, implementation and monitoring of the organization's infection control plan.
  • Provide overall direction and co-ordination of the organization's Obstetrics / Pediatrics and IV Therapy Programs as well as Specialty Clinicians and staff development educators to facilitate patient care integration and coordination according to the Conditions of Participation, JCAHO Standards and policies and procedures of the Home Health organization.
  • Oversee administrative on call coverage for the Obstetrics / Pediatrics / IV Therapy teams.
  • Identify, develop and participate in process improvement opportunities within the home health agency that will enhance the quality of services we provide.
  • Facilitate program growth and development within the specialty areas which enhance quality and reimbursement outcomes. Manage the formalization and direction of the infusion and oncological disease state programs for agency use and for community presentation.
  • Proven ability to facilitate change.
  • Collaborate with referral sources to develop and monitor investigational drugs and clinical research protocols. This includes oversight of contracts, protocol implementation, informed consent, documentation, and nursing and patient education.
  • Focus on customer service and continually strives to perform the duties of their job in a manner that will result in optimal patient satisfaction.
  • Seek research and publications opportunities within the scope of these programs.
  • Oversee recruitment, employment and supervision of professional personnel.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing required
  • B.S. degree required
  • Master's degree in Nursing, Health or Business Administration preferred
  • 5 years nursing experience required
  • 3 years home health experience preferred
  • 3 years management experience required

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
  • Automotive Insurance
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Driver's License
  • Registered Nurse (RN)
