Description

Purpose:
Under the general direction of the Internal Communications leadership team, develop and implement internal communications strategies in support of UPMC’s mission.

Responsibilities:
• Serve as communication liaison to internal clients, providing consultation and strategic communications planning where appropriate.
• Independently plan, research, and write copy that is creative, well organized, concise, stylistically appropriate to the audience, channel, and purpose, and conforming to department style rules.
• Take responsibility for approvals and accuracy of information communicated.
• Monitor budget and manage distribution and delivery of projects, as appropriate. Complete projects on time and within budget.
• Handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize projects appropriately.
• Manage all facets of communications projects for UPMC Internal clients, including print, digital, photography, or video.
• Contribute to Intranet content management, including building and maintaining web-based content.
• Contribute to peer-review editing process.
• Demonstrate service-oriented behavior in interactions with clients and co-workers.
• Support and encourage colleagues to generate new ideas or adapt existing ones in order to produce strong communications and look outside internal communications for best practices and imaginative approaches.
• Participate in staff development and mentoring opportunities as appropriate.
• Adhere to all department processes as established for editing content, submitting to publications, supporting intranet governance, and other processes as outlined by department leadership.


Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, public relations, communications, health sciences, or a related field.
• Three years' experience in a communications position or related field.
• Must have excellent communication, multitasking, organizational, research/interviewing, writing,
• grammar, and interpersonal skills.
