Description
UPMC Pinnacle is currently hiring for a Casual - "As Needed" Community Programs Educator in the Harrisburg, PA area. This position will evaluates and integrates current educational practices related to physical activity and exercise for youth wellness education and prevention.
- Implement and evaluate physical activity and exercise programs for youth (preschool, elementary, middle and high school) programs.
- Compile and evaluate current youth wellness resources and develops new resources as needed.
- Update content as current information/research becomes available.
- Present information to school audiences and other community based organizations as requested.
- Support the academic, research, and clinical mission, philosophy, and activities of UPMC Health System and Community Health Initiatives
Qualifications
- BA or BS degree in Science, Health, Health Education, Journalism, English or a related field.
- 2 years of experience teaching at the elementary or middle school level including teaching which could be as a volunteer at Sunday School or YWCA type organization.
- Early development experience desired.
