Job Description/Summary/Objectives: University of Pittsburgh Physicians seeks an Anesthesiologist – Pain Medicine  to direct and plan the administration of anesthesia for assigned patients, with a focus in pain medicine; review pre-procedure testing and conduct preoperative evaluation of the patient and develop plan of care; responsible for documentation of all aspects of anesthesia care directly administered; responsible for consultations and communication between Surgeons, patients, family members, and other Anesthesia staff; evaluation and management of anesthetic and analgesic nerve blocks in patients undergoing surgery or trauma; implementation of multi-modal pain management techniques in the inpatient and outpatient setting.

 

Job Responsibilities

- Direct and plan the administration of anesthesia for assigned patients, with a focus in pain medicine;

- Review pre-procedure testing and conduct preoperative evaluation of the patient and develop plan of care;

- Responsible for documentation of all aspects of anesthesia care directly administered;

- Responsible for consultations and communication between Surgeons, patients, family members, and other Anesthesia staff;

- Evaluation and management of anesthetic and analgesic nerve blocks in patients undergoing surgery or trauma;

- Implementation of multi-modal pain management techniques in the inpatient and outpatient setting.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications and Licensure/Certification

- Must have a Medical degree or equivalent

- Completion of residency in Anesthesiology

- Completion of fellowship in Pain Medicine

- Board certification or Board eligibility in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine

- Must have a valid PA medical license or eligibility for licensure
