Reporting to the Sr. Director of Materials Management & Logistics, the Program Manager provides internal direction, leadership, accountability for print, fulfillment & supplier management efforts, coordinating among operations and stakeholders across the system. The Program Manager will work to manage outsourced suppliers, define measurable objectives, track financial spend, and define operational efficiencies to be implemented across the UPMC system.Serving as UPMC Supply Chain Management's Program Manager of Print, Fulfilment & Vendor Management, your responsibilities will be to serve as the print leader for UPMC and lead print integrations for the system. The primary role of this position is to work with UPMC Supply Chain Management, leadership operations and outside vendor to ensure a smooth implementation, seamless transition for the integration and overall print management. This role will require engagements with all operational teams including but not limited to PMO, finance, analytics, logistics, sourcing, pharmacy, cognitive and content and outside vendor. This position will require travel. At times, travel may exceed 50%, primarily within the United States.

Responsibilities:
  • Actively participate in the implementation of new print services and programs. Concise and standard documentation for implementation included status reports, agendas, project management structure and other client facing documentation.
  • Consult, advise and develop Master Service Agreements and Statements of Work related to print, integrations & vendor management. Develop and maintain templates for standard and consistent solutioning which allows for appropriate variation to meet the needs of each unique customer.
  • Lead cross functional UPMC Supply Chain Management team which includes direct reports as well as indirect team members. Lead, develop and mentor team members.
  • Maintain knowledge of current industry best practices and trends in technology and process. Manage effective communications between the teams. Prepares and presents timely project status.
  • Print and FulfillmentAnalyze, evaluate, and present information concerning factors such as operational spend, business situations, production capabilities, vendor performance targets, service level agreements, and design and development of system processes while providing recommendations concerning a course of action when appropriate. May develop and maintain detailed project plans utilizing standard project documentation and methodology and project tracking and reporting procedures.
  • Print and FulfillmentAssist team members in resolving project problems, delegates appropriately, escalates issues when necessary, and facilities decision-making.
  • Print and FulfillmentManages multiple vendors and work across multiple department disciplines.
  • Print and FulfillmentWork closely with Operations and Marketing to ensure that fulfillment programs and initiatives are a key part of UPMC business operations and supported with appropriate tools, resources, and technology.
  • Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, mathematics, statistics, health care, management, or related business field required.
  • Minimum of five years of related work experience.
  • ISM (Institute for Supply Management) CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager), and/or APICS (American Production & Inventory Control Society) PMP (Project Management Professional) and/or CIRM (Certified in Integrated Resource Management) is desired.
    • Master's degree preferred (Four+ years' experience will be considered). 
  • Experience in health care insurance or health care industry preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills required, experienced with Access, Excel, Microsoft Project preferred, and other pertinent computer software packages. 
  • Executive engagement experience is required. 
  • Business analysis, strategic thinking, strong communication skills and relationship building with strong influence and change management abilities required. Outstanding leadership and client facing skills are required; C-Level experience preferred. 
  • Demonstrated experience in Project and Program management, including project planning. 
  • Demonstrated experience managing matrix reports and cross-functional teams (including team members from multiple business units and different operational departments).
  • Proven ability to provide leadership to teams and establish strong customer relationships.
  • Excellent management, problem solving, organizational, and communication skills (oral and written) are required.  
  • Lean process improvement or six sigma experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain Management required.
