Description

The Procurement Analyst is responsible for leading Supply Chain Management projects/initiatives related to business process development and improvement, and business process infrastructure. The Procurement Analyst will assist in the identification, development, and implementation of P2P initiatives that reduce costs and improve service levels. The Procurement Analyst must have strong cross-functional collaboration skills and able to manage multiple projects, tight deadlines, and high pressure situations. The Procurement Analyst must be a problem solver and can apply critical thinking to challenging issues. The Procurement Analyst must be coachable and have a strong desire to learn and grow in their role.

Responsibilities:
  • Acts as a change agent for implementation of new systems, workflows, compliance requirements, and process updates across the organization
  • Develops, reviews, and maintains P2P operational procedure documents
  • Continuous process improvements over key areas of accountability
  • Runs daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports to support P2P delivery teams
  • Understands and demonstrates UPMC's Mission, Vision, and Values including SCM related policies and procedures
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement in processes and service
  • Facilitates training as necessary for new and existing P2P operations team
  • Participates on cross functional teams to support business objectives
  • Proactively identifies active and potential supply chain issues, minimizes the risk of supply chain disruptions and investigates emerging opportunities with the supply chain to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  • Completes analysis and propose initiatives
  • Assist in business process improvement training as needed
  • Prepare and present project status reports as needed
  • Performs P2P self-assessment testing, quality controls and checks, compliance testing, and procurement audits
  • Support the implementation and delivery of operational efficiency initiatives

Qualifications

  • One of the following combinations of education and experience is required: 
    • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance or related field and three years' work experience in P2P or business process design and optimization.
    • Master's degree in a related field preferred.
    • In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
  • Professional certifications (CPM, PPM, CPSM, APICS) a benefit.
  • Strong procurement, sourcing and payables skills required.
  • Must demonstrate a functional understanding of project management tools, methods, and resource allocation and other project management functions.
  • Strong communication, prioritization, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
  • Other Skill Requirements:Self-starter and must work well within a team environment
  • Working knowledge of PeopleSoft or similar ERP is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.
  • Six Sigma experience or certification is preferred.
